Matt has over seven years’ experience as a management consultant.

Since joining ZED, Matt has focused on organisational performance management, financial modelling, and data analytics. Recently, he has worked with the Northern Territory Department of Local Government, Housing and Community Development to develop and implement a new Procurement and Contract Management system, which has significantly improved data integrity and reporting capabilities. He has also assisted the Department in building a staffing model to measure the FTE and efficiency requirements to meet performance benchmarks.

Prior to this, Matthew assisted the South Australia Department for Education in the delivery of the NAPLAN tests. The Department has responsibility for marking all tests in South Australia, and Matthew has implemented a reporting application that enables the Department to better identify test scripts that are most at risk of inaccurate marking. This application has become integral to the quality assurance unit within the Department and has been adapted by other jurisdictions.

Matthew has extensive experience in the development and implementation of financial models and has a deep knowledge of quantitative methods for data analysis. During the past 4 years he has delivered financial models for clients in the health, education and disability support sectors, including activity-based costings and pricing models. In a recent cost model for a disability service provider, Matthew developed a new costing methodology that provided the organisation with a detailed breakdown of unit costs of support services. This methodology aligned the cost outputs to activities defined in the NDIS price guide, which enabled the organisation to compare costs with prices received for services, in a highly granular format.

In addition to a strong theoretical knowledge of financial modelling methodologies, Matthew is proficient in the technical aspects of model development. He possesses advanced Microsoft Excel skills and has a thorough knowledge of data storage and manipulation technologies. These skills ensure that all models Matthew delivers are technically robust as well as easy and intuitive to use.

Prior to joining ZED in 2014, Matthew worked as a macroeconomics tutor at the University of Adelaide while he completely a Master of Applied Economics. Matthew has strong skills in data analysis and reporting, business process mapping, financial modelling, and information solutions, having worked with a broad range of clients across Australia. He is an effective communicator and committed to the highest standards of professional conduct.

Matthew has a passion for information solutions that improve organisational decision-making, and keenly pursues professional development opportunities. He is currently undertaking a degree in Data Science at the University of Adelaide.
